Luxury eco-certified hotel with indoor pool, full-service spa, and Straits Kitchen restaurant serving Singaporean cuisine. Prime City location. Booked through Amex Fine Hotels + Resorts — one of my favorite hotels to date, and the location couldn't be beat.
Contemporary hotel near Marble Arch and Kensington Gardens. Hyde Park is a 7-minute walk. Heathrow Express right next door. Very small room, but perfect for a short solo stay.
Entire menu GF. Also houses Juno Omakase — an intimate 6-seat fully GF omakase hidden inside the restaurant — I didn't get to try it this time, but it's on the list for next visit.

London scores 8/10 for GF friendliness. UK allergen law (Natasha's Law) requires all food businesses to provide written allergen information. The city has multiple 100% dedicated GF restaurants including Los Mochis, Wicked Fish, and Indigo at One Aldwych, plus widespread menu labeling at chain restaurants.
Los Mochis (London City and Notting Hill locations) is a 100% GF Mexican-Japanese fusion restaurant scoring 5/5. Wicked Fish Spitalfields is a completely GF fish & chip shop. Indigo at One Aldwych runs a fully dedicated GF and dairy-free kitchen for lunch and dinner — the GF fish and chips were incredible. Pizza Express offers Coeliac UK-accredited GF pizza bases.
Yes — Marks & Spencer has the best 'Made Without' range, Sainsbury's and Tesco have dedicated Free-From aisles, and Whole Foods in Kensington carries international GF brands. Look for the Crossed Grain symbol on products verified by Coeliac UK.
Not yet — London is the only city I've visited in England and the UK so far, though I've been several times. My most recent trip was an unplanned stopover in April 2026 on the way back from a work trip in India. I can't wait to get out and explore other UK cities in the future.
Travel Tips
Download the Coeliac UK GF Food Checker app — scan barcodes in any UK supermarket to check if a product is gluten-free.
Say "I'm coeliac" rather than "I'm gluten-free" — UK staff take the medical condition more seriously than what may seem like a dietary preference.
Chain restaurants (Nando's, Wagamama, Pizza Express, Leon) are often more reliable for allergen info than independents, thanks to centralized allergen matrices.
UK law requires every food business to provide allergen information — don't hesitate to ask for the allergen binder. It's your legal right under Natasha's Law.
Avoid rush hour on the Tube (7:30–9:30am and 5–7pm). Off-peak fares are cheaper and the trains are far more comfortable.
The Westminster-to-Tower-Bridge riverside walk is London's best free sightseeing route — about 45 minutes passing the Tate Modern, Shakespeare's Globe, and Borough Market.
M&S Food Halls at major stations (Paddington, King's Cross, Waterloo) are your best bet for GF grab-and-go meals when in a hurry.
