Travel Tips
"Maladie cœliaque" is taken more seriously than "sans gluten" — always lead with the medical term
Email restaurants 24–48 hours ahead explaining celiac needs (in French for best response)
Assemble GF picnics from Naturalia or Monoprix — Paris parks are perfect for it
All wine is naturally GF — enjoy freely :)
The GF scene appears to have improved dramatically since 2014 — dedicated bakeries now exist throughout the city
What I'd Do Differently
When I visited in 2014, GF options were very tricky — I basically lived off macarons! Today there are 9+ dedicated GF restaurants and bakeries that I wish I'd had access to. I guess I have to go back!
I'd take more time at Versailles — it's one of those places that surprised me even though I'm not usually a palace/museum person.
Have a tip or comment?
