Say "I'm coeliac" rather than "I'm gluten-free" — UK staff take the medical condition more seriously than what may seem like a dietary preference.
Chain restaurants (Nando's, Wagamama, Pizza Express, Leon) are often more reliable for allergen info than independents, thanks to centralized allergen matrices.
UK law requires every food business to provide allergen information — don't hesitate to ask for the allergen binder. It's your legal right under Natasha's Law.
Avoid rush hour on the Tube (7:30–9:30am and 5–7pm). Off-peak fares are cheaper and the trains are far more comfortable.
The Westminster-to-Tower-Bridge riverside walk is London's best free sightseeing route — about 45 minutes passing the Tate Modern, Shakespeare's Globe, and Borough Market.
